Ken Fitchew
Trainer and Consultant - telecommunications
As a telecoms engineer, who is also qualified as a teacher of English as a foreign language, Ken brings together a range of skills and experience. His initial work in telecommunications research in the UK, including a 6-month secondment to Japan, led to a wider role in R&D Strategy and then on to work as an expert in the European Commission. He has since been involved as a project reviewer and evaluator for European projects, and undertakes proof-reading of technical papers written by non-native English speakers, mainly from Japan.
He has a long-term interest in training and in clear and accurate communication, which has involved giving a course of basic telecommunications to staff in the European Commission, writing user-friendly documentation, and voluntary work in assisting with English programmes for summer activities for young people in Eastern Europe.
